Are building and architecture in Israel the same as anywhere else in the world? Are they impacted by the unique features of the land, the history, the people? Is there a uniquely Israeli architecture? A Jewish architecture? What have the Jews learned in their long dispersion to every corner of the globe? How does it impact the way they build? How has the need to absorb so many immigrants so quickly impacted architecture in Israel? Can we recover from it's effects? What is the most comfortable building you have ever been in?
And what is the role of the builder? What is the role of the architect? In building a home, do they bring their own vision, or do they draw out the vision of the owner? Who is it who lives in the building? How is it that we've been fooled for so long?
These are some of my questions, some of my questions.
And this site may someday blossom to provide some answers, some direction, some services to help people create their own homes on the land - find their own place and create their own space. Every person under his fig tree and under his vine, when the people Israel again naturally grows up from its land, builds it anew.
